Mom’s Chocolate chip cookies

These are on the middle rack of the oven

2 cups flour

1 cup brown sugar

1 stick butter, 1 stick margarine

1 egg

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon salt

12 oz. chocolate chips (don’t go cheap on the chocolate chips ya hear!)

Soften margarine and butter…do not melt…just smoosh!  Add brown sugar and mix gently…softly.  Add egg.  It might help to beat the egg first then add to the butter mixture and stir again.  Do not whip.

Add flour, salt, baking soda, and mix thoroughly….still do not whip.

Add vanilla and chocolate chips.  You can snitch a few though!!

Cookie dough should be a bit lumpy.

Drop by big spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.

Preheated oven at 350 degrees…….for 9-10 minutes only!!!!  Should be a little soft looking on top when you take them out.  Let cool for a few minutes on sheet. Then remove to board or rack. YUM!!!  The best cookies….as you know.
