Bogun Cunt Courtney’s sticky date pudding

Body of sticky date pudding

(375 grams) 13.2 oz of dried dates
(375 grams) 1.9 cups of raw sugar
(120 grams) 8.4 tablespoons of butter
(600 mls) 2.5 cups of water
2 teaspoons of baking soda
(375 grams) 3.4 cups of self raising flour (plain white flour and add baking soda, 2 teaspoons per 3 cups)

Caramel Sauce

1 cup brown sugar
teaspoon of vanilla extract
(100 grams) 7 tablespoons of butter
–melt it all down until caramelized (When it looks like caramel.  Gets thicker and darker brown)
(375 grams) 13.2 oz of dried dates
(375 grams) 1.9 cups of raw sugar
(120 grams) 8.4 tablespoons of butter
(600 mls) 2.5 cups of water

Put all together in a saucepan until dates are soft, usually about 10 to 15 minutes.

Take off stove and add 2 teaspoons of baking soda

Cool the mixture and add 3.4 cups of self raising flour and add 4 eggs.  Mix gently without over mixing until all is mixed.

Pour into a tray that is about (30cm by 20cm) 12in by 8in or a round tin or an average baking tray.

Cook at 375 F and for about 25 to 30 min.  Test it around that time with a skewer.
